Mark III (Ruger)

The Ruger Mark III pistol is a blowback operated, semi-automatic rimfire pistol chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It is fed from a ten round box magazine.1

Ruger manufactured the Mark III from 2004 until 2016.2 It was available in:

      • Standard – as described above
      • Target – longer heavyweight barrel to aid with target shooting
      • Government Target – longer heavyweight barrel to aid with target shooting (sold to Government only)
      • Competition – slab-sided heavyweight barrel and target grips
      • Hunter – 6 7/8” target-crowned, fluted bull barrel, micro-adjustable V-notch rear sight, and a HiViz front sight
      • 22/45 –  polymer grip frame assembly, grip shape & angle similar to 1911 pistols

models. They came either blued or in stainless steel.3

      • Later Ruger Mark III pistols (I do not have date or serial number range) were shipped without the Scope Base Adapter (Weaver-Style) ⇒.4
      • For competitive shooting, Classic American Gunsmith recommends the UltraDot MatchDot II ⇒ red dot sight for use on the Ruger Mark III pistol ⇒.
