Hi Power (Browning)

The Browning Hi Power pistol … .

The Hi-Power was one of the gun designs that John Moses Browning left unfinished at his death in 1926. Browning’s assistant and designer of the FN FAL, Dieudonné Saive, completed the design. The ‘Grande Puissance’ or High Power was introduced in 1935. The pistol saw action on both sides during WWII.1

The folks at TheFirearmBlog.com ⇒ noticed that the Hi-Power page ⇒ on the Browning website ⇒ now says that the pistol is “no longer in production.” Over one million of the iconic pistols have been produced since 1935.2 3

gunsmithing notes:

      • The 9mm barrels seem to be expensive and rare. The last price I was quoted was $317 plus shipping.4
