The Remington Model 700 is a mass produced bolt action rifle with a design that is capable of being a very accurate long range gun.¹ It was introduced in 1962 and is still in production. The 700 is the first production gun to host the Remington 7mm Magnum cartridge.²

1. This is not to say that out of the box the Remington 700 is the most accurate gun made. It is not. It means that a skilled craftsman can take a Remington Model 700 action/bolt combination and make a very accurate rifle out of it.
