700

The Remington Model 700 is a mass produced bolt action rifle with a design that is capable of being a very accurate long range gun.1 It was introduced in 1962 and is still in production. The 700 is the first production gun to host the Remington 7mm Magnum cartridge.2

gunsmithing note(s):

      • You can determine the action type (long action or short action) of a rifle by measuring the distance between the action holes (where the guard screws screw into the action). This can be done on the action or the stock. The Short Action will measure 6.5″; the Long Action will measure 7.35″, and the Magnum Action will measure longer than 7.35″.3
